Warranty Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY SERVICES

  1. These terms and conditions apply to the limited warranty from CANON MARKETING (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. (“Canon”) in respect of Canon equipment (“Equipment”) distributed by Canon and purchased in Malaysia (“Limited Warranty”).

  2. The Limited Warranty is valid only in Malaysia to the original purchaser (“Purchaser”) of the Equipment and is not assignable or transferable.

  3. The Limited Warranty must be registered online at www.canon.com.my within 14 days from date of purchase.

  4. Please retain your purchase receipt for verification purpose.

  5. The Limited Warranty is valid for 12-36 months (depending on Product’s entitlement and to be revised by Canon from time to time without further notice) from the Purchase Date (“Warranty Period”) and upon successful registration of the warranty contract on-line. In the absence of any on-line registration, the Limited Warranty period shall be reduced to 12 months, unless otherwise specified. (For Camcorder CCD image sensors and recorder heads under Video products, the Limited Warranty is valid for 6 months from the Purchase Date).

  6. The Limited Warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use and installation of the Equipment, subject to these terms and conditions.

  7. During the Warranty Period, Canon will provide labour and repair or replacement of defective Equipment or parts thereof covered by the Limited Warranty without charge. Any insurance, handling, transportation, delivery and other incidental charges in respect of the servicing of the Equipment shall be borne by the Purchaser. For field models, on-site service will be provided if the location is within a 40 km radius from any Canon service centre or appointed authorized service centre (Please refer to www.canon.com.my for location details).

  8. All decisions made by Canon in respect of the servicing of the Equipment (including repairs, replacements or issues relating to defects of workmanship or materials) shall be conclusive and the Purchaser agrees to be bound by such decisions. Any defective Equipment or part thereof replaced shall become the property of Canon.

  9. The Limited Warranty does not cover :

    1. Loss or damage to Equipment due to: (i) abuse and/or tampering by any person other than the authorized personnel of Canon; (ii) negligence and/or misuse (including foreign object, accident, improper storage, exposure to moisture, excessive temperature, sand, dust, dirt, other pollution or other environmental conditions and failure to follow precautions or proper operating instructions stated in the instruction manual such as improper installations); (iii) fire, flood, lightning strike or other acts of God; and (iv) deficiencies in consumable parts such as battery leakage.

    2. Defects, damages or accidents due to the malfunction, connection to or use of unauthorized parts (including re-conditioned, tampered, re-used or non-genuine Canon accessories and/or consumable items not recommended by Canon). In such event, Canon reserves the right to cancel the Limited Warranty coverage immediately.

    3. Consumable items, accessories and optional items (including video head, bulb, drum/head lamp, drum unit, print head, laser unit, batteries, battery pack, battery charger, power adapter, cables, connectors, software, tapes, CF/storage card, CD-ROMs, ink/toner cartridges, waste ink absorber and ink sheets).

    4. Software Drivers, Utility Program and Application Software supplied with the Equipment.

    5. Non-Canon products and software items and any other peripherals used in connection with the Equipment.

    6. Equipment with its serial number removed, defaced or altered.

  10. To the extent allowed by the applicable local law, the remedies in the Limited Warranty are the Purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedies. Canon shall not be liable for loss of data or any incidental, indirect or consequential damages (including loss of anticipated benefits or profits) whether based on contract, tort or otherwise, relating to or arising out of the Equipment.

  11. No implied warranty, including that of satisfactory or merchantable quality or fitness for a particular purpose, applies to the Equipment after the Warranty Period. Except as provided in the Warranty Card, no other warranty (expressed or implied) or guarantee given by any other party in respect of the Equipment shall bind Canon.

  12. The Limited Warranty including these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF CANON REDLINE SERIES CAMERA BAG WARRANTY SERVICES

  1. These terms and conditions apply to the limited warranty ("Limited Warranty") from Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd ("Canon") in respect of Canon Camera Bags (model number starting with RL) ("Product") purchased from an authorised dealer of Canon in Malaysia and accompanied with a warranty and proof of purchase (E.g. purchase receipt).

  2. The Limited Warranty covers defects in material and workmanship encountered under normal use and installation of the Product, subject to these terms and conditions. Unless otherwise specified, the Limited Warranty is valid only in Malaysia.

  3. The Limited Warranty is valid only for the original purchaser ("Purchaser") of the Product and is not transferable.

  4. Unless otherwise specified, the Limited Warranty is valid for 60 months (5 years) from the Date of Purchase ("Warranty Period").

  5. The proof of purchase is invalid if it has been defaced or altered.

  6. The proof of purchase must be presented when sending Product to Canon for the Limited Warranty services.

  7. The defective Product or parts thereof covered under the Limited Warranty shall be repaired or replaced (with comparable and/or refurbished product or parts) as determined by Canon in its sole discretion free of charge. Any insurance, handling, transportation, delivery and other incidental charges in respect of the servicing of the Product and for services beyond the scope of this Limited Warranty shall be borne by the Purchaser.

  8. All decisions made by Canon in respect of the servicing of the Product (including repairs, replacements or issues relating to defects of workmanship or materials) shall be conclusive and the Purchaser agrees to be bound by such decisions. Any defective Product or part thereof replaced shall become the property of Canon.

  9. The Limited Warranty does not cover :

    1. Loss or damage to Product arising from or in connection with (i) abuse, tampering modification and disassembling by any person other than Canon's authorised personnel; (ii) negligence and/or misuse (including accident, improper storage, exposure to moisture, excessive temperature, sand, dust, dirt, other pollution or other environmental conditions and failure to follow precautions or proper operating instructions stated in the instruction manual such as improper installations); and/or (iii) fire, flood, lightning strike or other acts of God.

    2. Loss or damage to Product arising from or in connection with the malfunction of, connection to or use of parts and accessories not authorised or recommended by Canon (including re-conditioned, tampered, re-used or non-genuine Canon parts and accessories). In such event, Canon reserves the right to cancel the Limited Warranty immediately.

    3. Non-Canon products and any other peripherals used in connection with the Product.

  10. To the extent allowed by the applicable local law, the remedies in the Limited Warranty are the Purchaser's sole and exclusive remedies.
